The iPhone 13 is Apple’s latest offering to consumers. As would be expected, there are a variety of new iPhone 13 features that come with the release. While the design itself is quite similar to its predecessor, there are quite a few iPhone 13 features that are getting Apple users excited.
If you are wondering what new iPhone 13 features set this offering apart from the iPhone 12, look no further.
Here are five iPhone 13 features you need to know about before going out to shop for new iPhone accessories.
1. Color and Design
In terms of design, the iPhone 13 comes with a small notch and has the same size and shape as the iPhone 12, albeit slightly thicker. In essence, this means that many of the accessories from previous models will work with the 13 as well.

Where color is concerned, Apple has a new batch of colors for consumers. For the iPhone 13 and 13 Mini, the available colors include:
- Blue
- Midnight
- Pink
- Product Red
- Starlight
For the Pro and Pro Max versions of the phone, consumers can choose from:
- Gold
- Graphite
- Sierra Blue
- Silver
2. Camera
For many, the iPhone 12 Pro Max’s camera was exciting as it was a significant upgrade over the 11 Pro. Fortunately, the iPhone 13 and 13 Mini both feature the same sensors as the model that came before it, along with upgrades like the new Cinematic Mode for shooting video, automatic (or manual) rack focus, new Photographic Styles during processing and more.

Meanwhile, the Pro and Pro Max come equipped with the new telephoto camera which has 3x zoom, allows for Night Mode (and significantly improved low light performance overall) and the ability to focus at two centimeters, thus elevating the iPhone’s macro photography abilities to new heights.
3. Displays
The iPhone 13 and 13 Mini come with a new OLED display that outweighs the performance of the iPhone 12 Pro’s display. The brightness is capable of going up to 800 nits, while HDR content can reach 1200 nits. Moreover, Apple claims that the display’s improved power utilization enables them to remain at peak brightness for longer.
As for the 13 Pro and Pro Max, the brightness can reach 1000 nits and also supports ProMotion (much like the iPad Pro), thus lowering refresh rates.
4. Battery
One of the most noteworthy of the new iPhone 13 features is that all models come with a 10-15 percent larger battery capacity (depending on the model) than their predecessors. Moreover, all of the iPhone 13 models feature more power-efficient displays and networking components. All of this helps to extend the battery life of the iPhone 13.
Fortunately, consumers can still use Lightning-to-USB-C cable to charge this new, bigger battery.

Ultimately, this means that iPhone 13 models will often have a battery life that lasts hours longer than the iPhone 12. Moreover, this essentially means that, in the past three years, Apple has managed to double the battery life of the iPhone.
Pretty impressive stuff.
5. Storage
Each iPhone 13 model begins at 128GB of storage, with options for 256GB and 512GB. This doubles non-Pro models from the iPhone 12.
With the Pro models of the iPhone 13, users can also get their hands on a cool 1TB of storage.
New iPhone 13 Features
As you can see, there is a lot going for all models of the iPhone 13, thereby making it a significant upgrade from last year’s model.
